… FROM SILVER
On a late Sunday night in June, BTRF posted an urgent call
for help.
One of our new long term foster dogs was on his way to
an emergency vet hospital in London. He had been
struggling with a lot of discomfort in his tummy during the
day and the carer and the care team were very concerned
and agreed that he needed to see a vet ASAP – he
couldn’t wait until Monday. The BTRF care team spoke to
the vet and he also agreed that emergency care was
needed.
This was going to put significant pressure on our already
stretched funds (all 8 of our foster dogs need ongoing
specialist medical and/or behavioural support) and we
therefore needed to put out an emergency call for
donations to be able to meet this unexpected cost –
which we knew would be very expensive on a Sunday in a
London Vet Hospital.
Late Sunday night he returned home with his foster mum
and his tummy was much more comfortable thanks to the
vet care he received. On Monday morning he had a little
bit to eat with rest and a few quiet days recovering.
We still don’t really know what happened – it is thought
that he may have picked something up on his walk – he
loves snuffling and foraging in the undergrowth (like all
Beddies do!) so unbeknown to his carer he may have
ingested something inappropriate.
BTRF, our foster mum and Silver would like to say a huge
THANK thank you for answering our call for help – you raised
YOU SO £1,895.00 which is amazing.
MUCH
