BUTTONS AND HIS TOY BOX
Hello, Buttons here!
Remember me? I had a really tough time before I landed with the BTRF team! My
previous vet and family were at a point of having to consider euthanasia because my
behavioural and medical difficulties were so severe and I had bitten a number of
people ... but not because I was naughty or difficult, because I was in pain and
horrifically sore and itchy.
Thanks to Aunty Lisa, BTRF and my amazing care team, I am now feeling and doing
great (and I may have some exciting news!! But more of that in the Autumn issue of
the eNewsletter!!).
If you’re a regular supporter of BTRF and follow the Facebook page, you will know
that I was in dire straits (!) back in May – my toy box was almost empty, and
Aunty Kaye and the team had to start a Toy Box Appeal!
I love my toys, and Aunty Lisa says my toys are really important as I use them to help
regulate myself when I find things tricky.
Now, safe to say, I do go through toys quite quickly – in fact, I should probably be a
tester for tough toys, because I’m very good at pulling them apart, but that’s also the
point of toys and half the fun, so Aunty Lisa gives me some which really stand up to a
‘Buttons’ battering and some which I get to destroy after a few goes. And I like
variety too ... The best bit is getting to choose which one I want from my toy box
each time I go out (and then I get a couple of different ones for play in between too).
As a result of my Toy Box Appeal, you all raised an amazing £397! It meant that not
only did my toy box get a massive boost but there was also enough left over to get
me some of my favourite treats! I also had one lovely supporter treat me to three
packs of rabbit ears (my absolute favourite!). They also really help me to chill and
stay calm – nothing better than a chewy Rabbit Ear to help me relax!!!
Here is a photo of my new overflowing
Toy Box and one of me enjoying one of
my rabbit ears!
Thank you everyone – I’m really
enjoying all my new toys and treats!
