LOVING LIFE
I’m not saying he’s cured; I think the emotions will always be there in the background
… I’ll give you an example.
The other week I was on the beach, and he disappeared behind a rock. It wasn’t long
before I realized he had found something that he decided would become his
possession. I could tell by the way he popped his head up as I approached and gave
me that “don’t even think about it missus THIS IS MINE! “ .
In the past, this would have become a real big moment, a problem, an issue which
would have taken a long time to resolve, but this time as I casually walked on by
confident that nothing was happening and all was well in the world, I picked up some
straggly seaweed and started waggling it around and dragging it along the sand
pretending it was the most fabulous toy in the world.
I was watching him and I could see he was thinking and trying to choose between
THING behind the rock and fabulous seaweed toy and although he returned to THING
behind the rock twice, he then made a brave decision to leave it and come running
towards me … which was amazing!
This all happened in less than two minutes and as soon as he reaches me I could see
that he had already forgotten THING behind rock and I was really pleased with him
for that, my buddy.
We’re always getting stopped by people who
admire Charlie, and we waste no time in
promoting the good work that you all do at BTRF.
So, keep up the good and valuable work helping
these troubled Beddies in need. Our thanks also go
to the supporters out there who donate much
needed funds to enable BTRF to help other dogs
like Charlie – it’s real life changing for them!
