Thank you for sponsoring Eddy the Beddie!
This page is dedicated to Eddy and all his news. We will be posting regular updates about his progress and he will also be chipping in himself from time to time!
His forever foster parents will also add some snippets of their life with Eddy and of course share some photos with you.
Be sure to pop back regularly to see how he is doing!
I’m a 'forever foster' lad and I came to BTRF because I didn’t have a home and was living on the street. I will stay with my foster mum and dad forever because I’m quite old now and I have an amazing care team to keep me well.
We are not sure of Eddy’s age but think he is about 12 years old. Eddy was rescued by the Midlands Bedlington Terrier Group and came into the care of BTRF in the summer of 2022.
Eddy loves his bed, or should we say beds as he has a very large collection now. He likes to hang out with his foster mum in the home office or snooze in the conservatory.
Eddy has an amazing eye doctor who diagnosed a rare eye condition related to allergies. Eddy has to have regular eye drops to stop his eyes from drying out. He needs a specially formulated diet and supplements to manage his allergies. He also has arthritis and needs pain relief and joint supplements to keep him nice and comfortable in his old age.
Your support will help pay for Eddy’s on-going vet bills, his eye drops, medication and specialist food whilst he lives his very best life with BTRF in foster care.
Hello all my lovely sponsors (and everyone else too) Eddicus Eagle here.
I thought it was about time I put paw to paper and gave everyone an update of what I have been up to.
Thankfully mum has become a very good dog language translator so unlike above it doesn’t come over as BARK BARK BARK. Mind you that is one good thing I am brilliant at – BARKING! In fact when I do it in the early hours of the morning I can hear our neighbours shouting out their praises to me although Dad seems to think that is not what they are doing!
So what have I been up to over the last couple of months? Well I had a couple of weeks holiday at nan and grandads in leafy Hertfordshire while Mum and Dad cruised the Caribbean. The reason I couldn’t go they said was it would be far too hot but while they were away I spent the nights dreaming of lying on a sunbed by the pool and clicking my paws for the waiter to bring me a cool bowl of water and a sausage from the grill bar – yum!
Still I get spoilt rotten when I am on my holidays as well so I can’t complain.
Hasn’t it been hot. Boy I have not known what to do with myself some days. Thankfully I have been able to sleep the day away wrapped in my cool jacket which Mum won in the last BTRF auction. That just keeps me so cool and then at bedtime we have a lovely big fan blowing down on us from the ceiling so it hasn’t been so bad.
So later this week we have nan and grand-dad coming to stay so I am sure there will be a few presents coming my way!!!
Anyway just a little note as its too exhausting in this heat to write any more but I will be in touch again soon. Thank you all my lovely supporters for sponsoring me and helping BTRF with my care. I am expensive to look after BUT as you all know I am worth it!!!!!!!!
Licky slurps to you all

Hi everyone, happy New Year to you all. My turn to share an update, as the most senior of the Beddy foster fellas in BTRF’s care!
Well, it is fair to say I am doing very well! You may remember I came into BTRF’s care over a year ago now and was diagnosed with quite a rare condition that affected my eyes and as a result I had to have all sorts of tests to try to get to the bottom of what was causing the issues. Eventually it was discovered that the condition was caused by allergies and a food allergy in particular. So as a result, I have to have a very carefully managed special diet and special daily eye drops to keep my eyes crystal clear (they are my best attributes, so I am told!!).
I also have some arthritis in my back and back legs (happens to the best of us when we get to my age!) but this is also carefully managed, and I still enjoy my daily short sniffy walks.
I did have a bit of a blip last year when I had an inner ear infection – we are not sure where that came from and I had everyone worried for a time there, but as always my BTRF care team, the amazing vets who look after me and my forever foster parents looked after me and I made a really good recovery.
I go to work with my foster mum every day (well that’s in the office at home!!!) and the biggest decisions I have to make is which bed to sleep in!!! I have loads because everyone knows that choice of sleeping places for dogs is soooooooooooo important!!!
So that is me! Doing great and living my best life to the max and I have everyone running around looking after me!!
Thank you to all our supporters out there who help BTRF help dogs like me stay well and happy.
Tail wags
